LOCTITE UR 5152 is a solvent-free, moisture curing one component adhesive based on polyurethane. At room temperature and the required humidity in the joint sufficient strength will be obtained after approximately 2 to 4 hours.
For faster curing LOCTITE UR 5152 can be cured in a heated press. Maximum temperature must not exceed 70°C.
Application Areas
LOCTITE UR 5152 is used for the manufacture of sandwich elements with porous substrates (e.g., wood) which contain humidity.
The substrates can be bonded to one another or to metals, laminated panels, various plastics, rigid foams made of polystyrene, polyurethane and others.
Fasto UV98E is a single component, general purpose, very low viscosity and economic grade UV adhesive thatcures to give a clear, flexible bond when exposed toUVA-light. It is especially suited for decorative glassbonding. The low viscosity of UV98E means it can wickinto preassembled parts.TYPICAL APPLICATIONSFasto UV98E is general purpose UV adhesive that hasbeen developed for bonding glass where non yellowing, transparent bonding is required. It is mainly developed for glass furniture industry wherehigher precision and transparency is required.PROPERTIES OF UNCURED MATERIALValueChemical type Urethane acrylic esterAppearance ClearSpecific Gravity 1.03Viscosity cPs1Typical Value 57Fixture Time2 (secs) 5Depth of Cure3 (mm) 2Compress Shear Strength4, N/mm2Glass 10Refractive Index 1.35Hardness ShoreD 48Shelf Life @ 21°C (months) 12Operating Temperature Range (°C)Continuous -50 to +110Intermittent -50 to +1301 Brookfield LVF, Spindle2 , 30rpm2 Glass slide fixture 10mW/cm2 @ 365 nm3 Cured for 30 secs @ 10mW/cm2 @ 365 nm4 Based on ASTM D2095-69, 180 secs cure @ 20mW/cm2
TYPICAL CURING PERFORMANCEGlass Slide Fixture Time in seconds, using Hg VapourLamp:10mW/cm2 <530mW/cm2 <3The rate of cure, depth of cure and surface tack of thecured adhesive will depend on the intensity of the UVlight, exposure time, and spectral output of the UV lightsource and light transmittance of the substrates to bebonded.Depths of cure up to 8mm can be achieved with highintensity lamps and long cure times. To achieve a fast, controlled, reproducible cure performance, the use ofhigh quality UV lamps is recommended.Cure Speed vs. IntensityFasto UV98E can be cured using sunlight. However, fora controlled, repeatable cure, UV lamps should be used.Cure speed vs. bond gapFasto UV98E is designed for bonding closely fitting glassand metal parts. UV98E can be used to a maximumdepth of ~3mm.CURING MECHANISMFasto UV98E is formulated to cure when exposed to UVradiation of 310nm or above.Chemical / Solvent ResistanceFasto UV98E exhibit excellent chemical resistance tomost oils and solvents including alcohols, methylatedspirit water. Fasto UV-curing adhesives are notrecommended for use in pure oxygen or chlorine lines.DIRECTIONS FOR USEFasto UV98E is very sensitive to UV-light. The adhesivesshould be applied to clean, dry parts. Ensure parts are
clean, dry and free from oil and grease. Apply adhesiveto one surface. Once the adhesive is applied, the partscan be positioned correctly and then exposed to UV-lightto initiate curing. Ensure that the entire bond is exposed.Product can be hand applied from the bottle.Dispensing systems are also available for high volumeassembly applications. Feed lines for the dispensingsystem must have black, UV-opaque tubing to avoidadhesive curing in the lines. Please contact your Fastorepresentative for further advice on dispensing solutions.GENERAL INFORMATIONFor safe handling of this product consult the MaterialSafety Data Sheet.StorageStore in a cool area and out of direct sunlight.Refrigeration to 5°C gives optimum storage stability.PackagingBottles: 100 g, 250 g and 1 kg. Available in bulk for usewith dispensing system. Please note: When packed an air space above theProduct is vital to maintain stability.DATA RANGESThe data contained in this data sheet may be reportedas typical value and/or range. Fasto LockSeal HS is high strength, anaerobic thread locker & sealant. LockSeal HS cures when confined in the absence of air on close-fitting metal surfaces. LockSeal HS is slightly oil tolerant, so it will bond some ‘as received' parts, but best results are obtained with clean substrates. LockSeal HS to be used for locking & sealing where high strength opening is required. LockSeal HS prevents corrosion of assembled parts.TYPICAL APPLICATIONSFasto LockSeal HS is suitable for most medium and coarse threads. Fasto LockSeal HS is formulated to lock & seal all metric and imperial nuts and bolts, preventing vibration loosening and leakage through the threads. LockSeal HS is typically used in crushers, diesel generators, agricultural machines, Hydraulic assemblies, heavy engineering machineries and many more industrial & automobile assemblies.TYPICAL APPLICATIONSFasto LockSeal HS is suitable for most medium and coarse threads. LockSeal HS is typically used in crushers, diesel generators, agricultural machines, Hydraulic assemblies, heavy engineering machineries and many more industrial & automobile assemblies.TYPICAL CURING PERFORMANCECure speed vs. Temperature All figure relating to cure speed are tested at 21°C. Lower temperatures will result in slower cure. Heating the assembled part accelerates the curing process. Activator Fasto AP49 should be used when the temperature is less than 5°C. Cure speed vs. bond gap The size of the bond gap greatly affects the speed of cure of anaerobic adhesives. Bond gap varies with thread type and size of the fastener. The larger the gap between surfaces, the slower the cure speed. Maximum recommended gap for Fasto LockSeal HS is 0.15mm. Cure speed vs. Substrate Cure speed and strength vary according to the substrates. When used on mild steel and brass components Fasto LockSeal HS will reach full strength more rapidly than on more inert materials such as stainless steel and zinc dichromate. Anaerobic Adhesives only cure in the absence of air with metal part activation. Cure speed vs. Activator Where speed is too slow or the bond gap is very large, Fasto AP49 Activator may be used to accelerate cure speed. The use of an accelerator may reduce bond strength up to 30%. Fasto recommends testing on the parts of measure the effect. TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE Hot strength Fasto LockSeal HS is suitable for use at temperatures up to 150°C. At 150°C the bond strength will be ~45% of the strength of at 21°C.Heat ageingFasto LockSeal HS retains over 90% full strength when heated to 100°C for 90 days then cooled and tested at 21°C. Chemical / Solvent Resistance Fasto LockSeal HS exhibit excellent chemical resistance to most oils and solvents including motor oil, leaded petrol, brake fluid, acetone, ethanol, propanol and water. Anaerobic adhesives and sealants are not recommended for use in pure oxygen and chlorine lines .
